metabolism
physiological function
the enzyme is involved in plastoquinone 9 biosynthesis
metabolism
the enzyme is involved in plastoquinone 9 biosynthesis
the enzyme is involved in biosynthesis pathway of plastoquinol-9
physiological function
the enzyme is involved in biosynthesis pathway of plastoquinol-9. Overexpression of At3g11950 in Arabidopsis thaliana, however, suggests that the solanesyltransferase can affect tocopherol biosynthesis as well
physiological function
a pds2 mutant due to an in-frame 6 bp deletion in the gene is deficient in tocopherol and plastoquinone accumulation, and the biochemical phenotype of this mutant cannot be reversed by externally applied homogentisate
physiological function
a T-DNA insertion mutant of the HST gene displays albino and dwarf phenotypes. The mutant also has some developmental defects, including trichome development and stomata closure defects. Chloroplast development is arrested and chlorophyll is almost absent. Exogenous gibberellin can partially rescue the dwarf phenotype and the root development defects and exogenous abscisic acid can rescue the stomata closure defects. An early flowering phenotype is found in the mutants
