additional information on gestation day GD90 enzyme PGFS is immunolocalized in the cytoplasm of large luteal cells only, whereas on GD108, sparse small luteal cells also display positive staining. PTGF receptor shows membranous localization within large luteal cells on both days of pregnancy. Expression

Organism Comment Expression
Sus scrofa flutamide, i.e. 2-methyl-N-[4-nitro-30-(trifluoromethyl)-phenyl]propamide, causes upregulation of enzyme PGFS mRNA and protein amount in pregnant female pigs at gestation days 90 and 108, whereas PTGF receptor protein expression is greater in both gestational periods up

General Information

General Information Comment Organism
physiological function prostaglandin F2alpha is the main luteolytic factor in pigs and its biosynthesis is catalyzed by prostaglandin F2alpha synthase, PGFS. The enzyme acts via specific seven-transmembrane G protein-coupled receptor (PTGFR) localized in large luteal cells. Intraluteal action of PGF2alpha causes a decrease in steroidogenic capacity and diminished production of progesterone. Intraluteal production of PGF2a is considered to be an important part of the luteolytic machinery Sus scrofa
