metabolism after proteasome inhibition glucokinase activity is significantly reduced in MIN6 cells, whereas the protein content is increased. Enhancing the availability of chaperones by cyclohexamide can induce refolding and restores glucokinase activity. Glucokinase aggregation due to proteasome blocking with MG132, bortezomib, epoxomicin or lactacystin can be detected in MIN6 cells, primary beta-cells and hepatocytes. Glucokinase aggresome formation proceeds microtubule-assisted and is avoided by cyclohexamide Mus musculus
